Day 1 BUDAPEST :
Arrival at Airport Budapest .
Buda and Pest, the city's two component parts, both face the mighty river Danube . Buda rises and falls along its hills in a swelling reprise of medieval cobblestone streets and ancient buildings. Pest is the governmental and commercial centre of the city. Budapest has 526 parks totalling some 1500 acres. It also has a wonderful zoo, 123 mineral hot springs , Roman ruins, a 100,000-fan sports stadium, and the second subway in the world (after London ), built in 1896.
Transfer to the hotel for check in.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 BUDAPEST :
Breakfast in the hotel.
Morning sightseeing tour of Budapest , which is so beautiful and full of life that visitors might not suspect that it has suffered a history of recurrent invasions and destructions. Bombardments destroyed a great deal of Renaissance and Baroque architecture, revealing many older walls and arches, some Medieval. The post-war governments rebuilt former Royal Palace , which is now a museum and cultural centre. Also see Fisherman's Bastion.
Independent Lunch.
Afternoon at leisure for individual sightseeing and shopping.

Afternoon excursion to Szentendre. Szentendre has a Mediterranean atmosphere which is drawn from the combination of the attractive hillside and river. Settled by Serbians and Greeks fleeing the Turks between the 14 th and 17 th centuries, the town exhibits beautifully decorated Baroque churches and houses. Option to visit the Szabadteri Neprajzi Muzeum, a collection of farm houses, which display the 19 th century peasant life and folk architecture.
