SOFIA – RILA MONASTERY – PLOVDIV – STARA ZAGORA /KAZANLAK/ - SOFIA

Day 01, Sofia
Arrival to Sofia Airport and transfer to the hotel. Welcome dinner in a local restaurant. (D, O)
If the flight timing allows – short sightseeing tour on foot – Sofia highlights, will be suggested.
Day 02, Sofia – Rila Monastery - Plovdiv
After breakfast - start a travel to Rila Monastery. The largest and the most famous Eastern Orthodox monastery in Bulgaria is part of UNESCO World Heritage List since 1983. Visit of the Monastery and the museum. Lunch.
Continue to Plovdiv. – Sightseeing of Plovdiv including visit of the Old town; the Roman remains; remains of the ancient Greek amphitheatre; the Ethnographic museum; Overnight in Plovdiv
Day 03, Plovdiv – Stara Zagora /Kazanlak – Valley of Roses/
Morning drive to the city of Stara Zagora – famous for its incredible artifacts dated 8 000 years ago.Kazanlak and the Valley of Roses. Accommodation in the hotel. Brief sightseeing of the city. Visit of the “Zagorka” brewery – beer
tasting. Visit the the Neolitic Dwelling /6 Millenniums BC/. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 04, Stara Zagora – Kazanlak / Rose picking/
Early breakfast – transfer to the complex “Roza Damascena” for rose picking. Rose picking /meeting with the round loaf and salt in an old Bulgarian custom, rose picking in rose garden, visiting a modern, authentic rose distillery, tasting of rose and other essential oils, treats with liquor "Rose", rose jam and pastry with cheese, gift for every tourist – certificated Bulgarian rose oil/. Visit of the luthier’s studio “Kremona”, where you will see the production of stringed instruments and the Ethnographic complex „Kulata” (“Tower”).
Return to Stara Zagora. Dinner with wine tasting. Overnight.
Day 05, Stara Zagora – Kazanlak /The valley of the Thracian Kings/ - Sofia
After breakfast travel to the city of Kazanlak – visit of the Regional Archaeological Museum. Visit some of the recent archaeological finds – Unique Thracian tombs. Visit of the Memorial Cathedral in the village of Shipka.
Continue to Sofia. Dinner. Accommodation and overnight.
Day 06, Sofia
After breakfast - sightseeing tour of Sofia and Vitosha Mountain including Boyana Church (1259 – UNESCO heritage list) and National Museum of History/Thracian golden treasures/.Dinner with live folklore performance.
Overnight in Sofia.
7th day Sofia
Breakfast. Transfer to Sofia Airport for the departure flight. End of the services.
