Munich-Frankfurt: Gardens and Castles - 10 nights
10 nights, a trip with famous castles in Germany combined with some of the most interesting and different gardens.
ITINERARY :
Day 1 Munich-Weihenstephan :
Transfer Airport to nearby Weihenstephan, the Garden University. Guided tour through the experimental gardens. Check-in at hotel in the afternoon and rest. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 2 in Munich
Morning City sightseeing tour with an inside visit to Palace Nymphenburg, the former Summer residence of our royal family. Walk through the Park, with French style gardening and English landscape gardens. Lunch will be served at the Palm Tree House in the Park. In the afternoon we cross into the Botanical Garden, detailed visit of the gardens, the special Alpine Garden and the glass houses with plants from all over the world. overnight at hotel.
Day 3 Munich to Salzburg
Morning at leisure in Munich, in the afternoon drive to Salzburg and upon arrival a visit to the fun gardens of Hellbrunn. Check-in at hotel and dinner/overnight in Salzburg.
Day 4 Salzburg to Garmisch
Morning walking tour of Salzburg with a visit to the Mirabell Gardens, time at leisure before departing on the Alpine Road via Innsbruck to Garmisch. Dinner and overnight
Day 5 Oberammergau - Neuschwanstein Castle - Lindau
Our trip today will take us to Oberammergau, known for its painted houses, the woodcarvers and the Passion Play (next in 2010). Then to the Wieskirche (Church in the Meadow), the most beautiful rococco church, to the Royal Castle of Neuschwanstein before arriving in Lindau at Lake Constance.
Day 6 Isle of Mainau
Today board the ferry to the Island of Mainau, which has the special climate which made the park world famous. 1000s of plants, various types of gardens and glass houses will overwhelm you during this day. Special guided tour for you. Lunch is on the Island today. overnight at hotel in Lindau
Day 7 Romantic Road to Rothenburg
Rothenburg is a medieval jewel, a walking tour will give you the best impressions. Rest of day at leisure, dinner and overnight in Rothenburg.
Day 8 Rothenburg to Heidelberg
Upon arrival in Heidelberg we shall visit the Pharmacutical Gardens of the University, see the Castle and other sites of the Student Prince City. Dinner tonight at an historical students tavern, overnight in Heidelberg.
Day 9 Heidelberg to Rüdesheim
Todays drive brings us to the Rhine, we shall enjoy the most scenic part of the Rhine from Rüdesheim to St. Goarshausen bypassing the Loreley, fortresses and famous vineyards. Wine tasting in a traditonal cellar, dinner and overnight at hotel in Rüdesheim/area.
Day 10 in Rüdesheim
This morning a guided walk through the vineyards will show you wine growing at steep hills of the Rhine. Last minute shopping in the afternoon. Farewell Evening will be at the famous Restaurant Rüdesheimer Schloss. Overnight in the area.
Day 11 to Frankfurt Airport
Leave in time of flight departure.
