From Vilnius to Tallin, Cycling tour - 15 days
DAY 1, Vilnius
Arrival to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Bus transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in Vilnius.
DAY 2, Vilnius – Trakai (30 km of cycling)
Morning City Tour, the 3-hour acquaintance with Vilnius Old Town.
Tour to Trakai, former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Visit to the picturesque Trakai Castle situated on an island in the midst of a lake.
Bicycling through the Trakai Region passing by Elektrenai where the most powerful thermal power station in Lithuania is located.
Transfer back to Vilnius. Overnight in Vilnius.
DAY 3, Vilnius – Dzukija National Park - Druskininkai (40 km of cycling)
Transfer by bus to Dzukija National Park.
Bicycling in the National Park, passing through pine forests and unique ancient villages.
Transfer to Druskininkai town, a famous recreation and SPA resort.
Overnight in Druskininkai.
DAY 4, Druskininkai - Grutas Park - Kaunas (30 km of cycling)
Exploring Druskininikai by bicycle. One can choose among 10 km, 13 km or 21 km circuit trails. Bicycling along Nemunas river through pinewoods to the Grutas Parkas, full of Soviet monuments that were brought here from all over Lithuania.
Departure to Kaunas, the second largest city of Lithuania. Overnight in Kaunas.
DAY 5, Kaunas – Seaside region - Vente Horn - Klaipeda (30 km of cycling)
Morning Kaunas Walking City Tour.
Departure to Klaipeda.
Cycling trip through Pamarys (Seaside) Region to Vente Horn via fishermen villages. In Vente Horn, you will visit the 19th cent. lighthouse and the Ornithological Station.
Overnight in Klaipeda.
DAY 6, Klaipeda - Curonian Spit – Klaipeda (55 km of cycling)
Departure to the Curonian Spit (5km by ferry + 50km from Klaipeda).
Bicycling through the Curonian Spit. You will pass by the Dead Dunes beyond Pervalka, enjoy a panoramic view of the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon, will observe a colony of grey herons and complete your biking day in Juodkrante, where you will visit the Hill of Witches.
Transfer back to Klaipeda. Overnight in Klaipeda.
DAY 7, Klaipeda – Seaside Regional Park - Palanga - The Hill of Crosses - Riga (25 km of cycling)
Cycling from Klaipeda through Seaside Regional park to Palanga Resort along the Seaside Cycle Route. Here you will explore the Dutchman’s Cap cliff, as well as the fishermen’s village of Karkle. You will visit Palanga’s Botanical Park and the Amber Museum, cycle along the main avenue ending in a pier heading 470 meters into the Baltic Sea.
Departure from Palanga to Riga, the capital of Latvia.
Stop at the famous Hill of Crosses, a unique historic place in the world boasting more, than 100 000 crosses.
Overnight in Riga.
DAY 8, Riga
Morning Riga City Tour by bus and a walking tour.
Overnight in Riga.
DAY 9, Riga – Gauja National Park – Cesis (40 km of cycling)
Departure to Gauja National park, often referred to as the Latvian Switzerland. Visit to the 13th century Turaida Castle, now housing a History Museum.
Cycling along the Gauja River valleys, passing by the Gutmana Cave and going further to Ragana with a stop in Krimulda to visit Latvia’s oldest church.
Transfer to Stalbe for the final ride of the day in Cesis, one of Latvia’s oldest and most beautiful Hanseatic towns.
Overnight in Cesis.
DAY 10, Cesis – Tartu (47 km of cycling)
Morning visit of the medieval Cesis castle, the residence of the master of the Livonian Order.
Continue bicycling in the Gauja National park. On the way you will visit Rauna castle ruins of the 16th century, ancient Rauna Lutheran church (13 cent.), Meri manor and park and Livonian Order castle Kalnamuiza.
Departure to Tartu, second biggest town in Estonia. Overnight in Tartu.
DAY 11, Tartu – Peipsi Lake - Alatskivi castle - Kollaste -Lahemaa National Park (40 km of cycling)
Morning Tartu City Tour.
Departure from Tartu.
Cycling from town Koosa, Varnja village and Lake Peipsi. Visit a magnificent manor Alatskivi castle, orthodox churches of Russian Old Believers and Kallaste, a town known for its interesting architecture.
Departure to Lahemaa National Park. Orvernight in Lahemaa.
DAY 12, Lahemaa National Park (30 km of cycling)
Cycling in the park taking the most developed cycling trails in Estonia.
Overnight in Lahemaa in one of the manor houses.
DAY 13, Lahema – Tallinn (40 km of cycling)
Biking tour in the Lahemaa National Park, where you will start with the Sagadi Manor and go to the Palmse Manor and then further to the Kasmu Peninsula.
Afternoon departure to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.
Overnight in Tallinn.
DAY 14, Tallinn - Kadriorg Palace - Tallinn (15 km of cycling)
The original bicycle sightseeing tour "Welcome to Tallinn by bike”.
Visit of Kadriorg famous for its baroque palace and a park ensemble, built as the summer palace for the Russian tsar Peter.
Overnight in Tallinn.
DAY 15, Departure
Transfer to the Tallinn airport. Departure.
Itinerary includes:
