Bus pick-up at the hotel and follow to the “Museu de Arte Antiga“ the Ancient Art Museum (closed on Mondays). This Museum is housed in a 17th century palace and stands on the site of a 16C Carmelite convent of which all that now remains is a Baroque Chapel. It is one of the most important Portuguese Museums and has a magnificent garden overlooking the River Tagus. There are some remarkable painting here by artists from the Portuguese school, permanent collections of outstanding European artists and religious sculpture from the Middle Ages to the Baroque period. From here lunch at a local restaurant and afterwards follow to the world renowned Gulbenkian Museum (closed on Mondays). The private collection by Calouste Gulbenkian in showcase, mostly 20th century art which headlights go to the famous Lalique Jewellery Collection. Panoramic drive along the major avenues of the city and return to the hotel.
