Established in 1951, major expansion into all aspects of travel business has made KOMPAS the leading travel organisation in Central and Eastern Europe. In 1990, after the collapse of communism and the changes that occurred in Eastern Europe, KOMPAS was successfully transformed into a privately-held company. Between 1975 and 1991 several companies were added to the KOMPAS organisation, and to establish corporate relationships between these companies and a cohesive marketing image for the entire organisation, the name KOMPAS TURIZEM (tourism) was adopted and introduced to the travel industry in the fall of 1992.KOMPAS TURIZEM headquarters in the capital of Republic of Slovenia, Ljubljana, are ideally situated to link the multi-country itineraries and to coordinate the activities of different KOMPAS offices throughout Europe.
